Friday Night Lights meets Gossip Girl and The Vampire Diaries for the new UK thriller Take Down

What happens when three of the most acclaimed TV series of recent years are combined into a single project?

Well, to answer that we can just borrow the words of Mimi Steinbauer: “I believe Take Down is definitely one of the hottest titles at the market”.

Take Down is a thriller set on a remote island and focused on the wayward sons and daughters of international billionaires, who have been sent by their frustrated parents to an exclusive, tough-love boot camp to learn basic survival skills, in the hope that this will somehow inspire them to find some meaning in the rest of their lives and stop emptying their bank accounts with wild exploits and cheap thrills. When they are taken hostage and held for a billion dollar ransom by a group of sophisticated kidnappers, the young captives suddenly need to fight the villains with the little they’ve learned on the course so far.

The cast is arrived in London these days.

Alongside the British Ed Westwick (Gossip Girl) already in London  where he has just finished shooting Bone in The Throat we’ll see the young American Jeremy Sumpter, class 1989, star of the acclaimed series Friday Night Lights but also known for his role as Peter Pan ( Peter Pan, 2003) and as the surfer Byron (Soul Surfer, 2011 alongside the next star of Life at These Speeds).

In the cast also Phoebe Tokin (the wonderful hybrid Hayley from The Vampire Diaries and The Originals).

Soon the cast will move to the Isle of Men where, in the early days of June, will begin filming this project by Pinewood.

Take Down will be directed by Jim Gillespie (I Know What You Did Last Summer) and written by Alexander Ignon (The Wedding Dress).
