This morning, May 9th, Laurent Puons, CEO of the 57th Monte-Carlo Television Festival announced that this year, the prestigious Crystal Nymph Award will be awarded to the acclaimed British actress Dame Helen Mirren, winner of Academy, Emmy and Tony Awards.The Crystal Nymph Award, which recognizes a “stellar body of work by a major international actor or actress” will be presented by H.S.H Prince Albert II, Honorary President of the Festival, as part of the Closing Ceremony (here last year live from the ceremony).
This morning were also announced the members of the juries. The FICTION JURY panel includes multi award-winning Argentinian film and television director, writer and producer Juan José Campanella (Colony, 30 Rock, Secret in Their Eyes); writer, producer and co-founder of Spain’s Bambu Producciones Ramòn Campos (Cable Girls, Velvet, La Embajada, Grand Hotel); award winning actress Odile Vuillemin (L’Emprise); Golden Globe and Emmy -nominated actor John Corbett (Parenthood, The Boy Next Door, Serendipity, Sex and the City); Emmy-nominated producer and writer Peter M. Lenkov (Hawaii Five-O, MacGyver, 24) and Academy Award – nominated actress Shohreh Aghdashloo (The Promise, Star Trek Beyond, Last Knights, The Lake House).
During the Opening Ceremony (here the link for the 56th) on June 16th the Festival will play host to the Global Premiere Opening Screening of Sony Pictures Television Networks’ new drama thriller series Absentia with some cast and crew members in the attendance.
During the conference were also announced a public screening of Amazon Studios’ The Last Tycoon on Sunday 18th June with lead actor Matt Bomer in the attendance.
Also expected at the Festival This Is Us stars Chrissy Metz and Justin Hartley (Smallville’s Green Arrow, The Young and the Restless, Challenger, Mistresses) soon a new tearjerker movie Another Time alongside fiancee Chrishell Stause.
