Tony Awards 2019: Hadestown leads with 14 nominations

Just announced in New York the nominations for the 2019 Tony Awards for best achievements in theatre and musical. Musical Hadestown leads with 14 nominations, followed by musical Ain’t Too Proud-The Life and Times of Temptations with 12. Tootsie closed with 11 nominations. Nine for The Ferryman and To Kill a Mockingbird. New musical Beetlejuice received 8 nominations like Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! Seven nominations for Gary: A Sequel to Titus Andronicus and The Prom. Six for Ink and five for Network. Four nominations for Choir Boy and Kiss Me Kate, three for King Kong Burn This, The Cher Show and Arthur Miller’s All my Sons. Two nominations for What the Constitution Means to Me, The Boys in the Band, Torch Song, The Waverly Gallery and Bernhardt/Hamlet. Only one nomination for King Lear, Hilary & Clinton and Be More Chill.

Now all that remains is to wait for the announcement of the performances that will take place during the award ceremony.
