“Save the cheerleader, save the world”; our television evenings were marked by this quote for four years in a row.
The sci-fiction drama series Heroes was aired for the first time in 2006.
With an average of 14.5 million viewers, the first season was ground-breaking. But after that a bizarre travelling circus was introduced, ratings plummeted and it was cancelled in 2010.
Heroes was the first show to fully embrace multi-platform storytelling from the get go and it was a fantastic show.
Maybe is why NBC thinks it’s time to bring it back.
The network announced that Heroes will return in 2015 under the name: Heroes Reborn with 13 episode for a new standalone miniseries.
It will be executive produced by show creator Tim Kring. He had moved on from the series to executive produce Touch, which Fox canceled after two seasons.
We don’t know who and if any of the original characters will return, but during the Olympic Games, Masi Oka, who played Hiro Nakamura on the show, tweeted: “Was watching the Olympics and saw the #HeroesReborn trailer. Time to dust off the sword?”
But where were its 12 original regulars in the past four years?

Ready to travel back in time along with Nakamura?
“The Earth is large. Large enough that you think you can hide from anything. From Fate. From God. If only you found a place far enough away. So you run. To the edge of the Earth. Where all is safe again. Quiet, and warm. The solace of salt air. The peace of danger left behind. The luxury of grief. And maybe, for a moment, you believe you have escaped”.
