Sometimes they come back: Heroes Reborn

“Save the cheerleader, save the world”; our television evenings were marked by this quote for four years in a row.

The sci-fiction drama series Heroes was aired for the first time in 2006.

With an average of 14.5 million viewers, the first season was ground-breaking. But after that a bizarre travelling circus was introduced, ratings plummeted and it was cancelled in 2010.

Heroes was the first show to fully embrace multi-platform storytelling from the get go and it was a fantastic show.

Maybe is why NBC thinks it’s time to bring it back.

The network announced that Heroes will return in 2015 under the name: Heroes Reborn with 13 episode for a new standalone miniseries.

It will be executive produced by show creator Tim Kring. He had moved on from the series to executive produce Touch, which Fox canceled after two seasons.

We don’t know who and if any of the original characters will return, but during the Olympic Games, Masi Oka, who played Hiro Nakamura on the show, tweeted: “Was watching the Olympics and saw the #HeroesReborn trailer. Time to dust off the sword?”

But where were  its 12 original regulars in the past four years?

Hayden Panettiere, the cheerleader Claire, has landed in Nashville after starring Amanda Knox in the movie Amanda Knox: Murder on Trial in Italy.

Jack Coleman, Claire’s father  Noah Bennet, after few episodes in the series The Vampire Diaries landed in Usa’s Burn Notice as recurring character.

The new musketeer Santiago Cabrera, on BBC One every Sunday in The Muskeeters, who played artist Isaac Mendez, played Lancelot in Merlin, Sal in Dexter and few months ago, Italian people saw him as one of the greatest Vronsky of all time  in Rai Movie mini-series Anna Karenina alongside Italian star Vittoria Puccini.

Tawny Cypress, the art dealer and skeptic Simone Deveaux has landed for 5 episodes in The House of Cards.

Matt Parkam, the LAPD police officer who can read people’s minds, starred by Greg Grunberg was busy on  Tv series Baby Daddy.

Ali Larter, the internet stripper with a severe dissociative identity disorder and super strength Niki Sanders, has worked on The Asset series and in different movies.

Her husband in Heroes, Leonard Roberts was on set of different well known series as Private Practice, CSI, Criminal Minds,…

We saw their fictional son Noah Gray-Cabey in the Tv movie Limelight.

Masi Oka starred for 18 episodes in the series Hawaii Five-O as Max Bergman.

The geneticist Mohinder Suresh, aka Sendhil Ramamurthy, worked in CSI: Miami and he is still working in The Beauty and the Beast as Gabriel Lowen.

What about the two brothers Petrelli, Milo Ventimiglia and Adrian Pasdar?

We wrote here about the first, and he was really busy between series as Marvel Anime where he played Wolverine and big movies as Grace of Monaco (here the trailer).

Pasdar, on the other hand, is working on the Tv series The Lying Game.

Ready to travel back in time along with Nakamura?

“The Earth is large. Large enough that you think you can hide from anything. From Fate. From God. If only you found a place far enough away. So you run. To the edge of the Earth. Where all is safe again. Quiet, and warm. The solace of salt air. The peace of danger left behind. The luxury of grief. And maybe, for a moment, you believe you have escaped”.
