The countdown to the 58th Monte-Carlo Television Festival has begun

Lights are starting to heat up as the 58th Monte-Carlo Television Festival is getting straight to the heart.

The nominees for the Golden Nymph Awards, which will be presented at on June 19th, 2018 have been announced.

Another incredible year for British television, that leads with 12 products nominated, follow by the US with five.

Matthew MacFadyen and Stephen Graham are nominated as Outstanding Actors in the Long Fiction Program for Howards End and Little Boy Blue; while their co-stars Hayley Atwell and Sinéad Keenan are listed for the Outstanding Actress Award.

The End Of The F***ing World and This Country will fight over the Comedy TV Series Award. This Country has also Charlie Cooper running for Outstanding Actor and Daisy May Cooper for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy TV Series.

Liar (here our live coverage from last year Monte-Carlo Television Festival) is listed in the Drama TV Series category as well as its actors Ioan Gruffudd and Joanne Froggatt as Outstanding Actor and Actress in a Drama TV Series.

Two Documentaries nominated: Mosul and Britain’s Greatest Hoaxer.

Two also the Live Breaking News nominated: Zimbabwe by BBC News and Grenfell Tower Fire by Sky News.

Both Production Company are nominated also in the TV News Intern category: Sky News for Mosul Front Line and BBC News for Rohingyas.

Sky News reaches a third nomination for A Plastic Whale in the Special Prize Price Rainier III category.

Entries into the Golden Nymph Awards continue to increase, with submissions in 2018 significantly up on the previous year. Across seven categories spanning Fiction and News programming; entries have been received from more than 50 countries.

The 58th Monte-Carlo Television Festival will run from 15th to 19th June 2018.
